I’ve fiiiiiiiinally gone back to my Star Trek blanket. Now that all the Christmas crafting is out of the way, I’m able to get my focus back. It has been a really rough few months emotionally (that’s the theme of last year), and I’ve had some issues with sciatica lately, including one trip to the ER due to intense pain I was in. That’s getting better, but it was agony. Even took a ride in an ambulance for that, it was that bad. I’m hoping that everything else will start to get better soon, or at least easier to deal with. A lot of it is out of my hands, so I can only try to handle it the best I can. I’m now able to focus on creating things for me again, and I already have a list of things I want to make. First on the list will be getting this blanket finished.
I will be honest – I haven’t woven the ends in as yet. They’ve been tucked under out of shot, but I didn’t feel like tackling them yet. I thought it better to get this up and posted instead of focusing on that. I’ll be able to work on that while watching tv, so it will definitely get done.
I’m finally getting close to being done! One more panel after this, and then the optional banner. I’m not sure if I’ll make it or just make the pattern for it. I still haven’t done that yet, so I guess we’ll all soon see.
I did take a bit of artistic licence with his visor, but since he doesn’t have arms or legs or facial features, I think it’s okay :p
I do plan on posting more frequently now, including a few throwback posts to items I made years ago. Some good, some awful. Hopefully you’ll be able to tell which is which. I’ve also started a temperature blanket, but will be making a panel for each month instead of doing it row by row. I’m hoping the overall effect will that of a calendar, but I’ll have to wait to see if that works.
Please check out my Etsy, as I now have my Charmed Gauntlets for sale, as well as the pattern, and you can order your own Magikarp bag. I’ll soon be adding custom listings for other items, so keep an eye out!
