Star Trek – the banner

There’s been a heatwave through my part of the state lately, so it has been absolutely disgusting here. My house doesn’t have air con and only one ceiling fan, so it is not made for this kind of weather. I have an air cooler, which is like a strong fan, so it hasn’t been a fun few days. It was that brain-sapping kind of heat, where you barely have enough energy to drink water and not much else. So that, combined with high pain, stress, and depression being nasty, it was a rough weekend. My birthday was on Friday, so now I’m the big 4-0, and it was a nice day spent with my wonderful daughter. My life isn’t anything like I thought it would be at this point, but that’s okay. I don’t feel 40, emotionally. Some days I feel about 80, physically, but I’m still waiting to grow up and be all mature.

Anyway, I have finished this blanket, at long last. I didn’t do the banner, mostly because I didn’t have enough of that yarn for it, and because I just wanted it DONE. It’s a good lap blanket like this, so I’m happy. It’ll look nice on my couch πŸ™‚

I went for the classic font for these, though you’re certainly welcome to play around with it and come up with something else. I’ve included a blank template in the file if you wanted to try something else.

    1. I’m in Brisbane too, but Northside. We got some rain and thunder here, but it didn’t last long or bring much relief.

        1. It’s really overcast here, but still humid. I’m hoping we get some cooling rain and soon!
